FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Austin, TX, September 21, 2022 — Have you ever dreamed of working as a game artist in the video game industry? With Vertex School, an online academy that offers innovative, creative tech training to prepare students for a career in games, film, XR and the metaverse, it’s possible! They offer higher quality, more affordable, and more up-to-date alternatives to associate and bachelor’s degree programs which can be outdated by the time you finish them.
At Vertex School, their students have peers and a community to help them with daily tasks and provide a strong support network. Among the courses that specialize in immersive creative tech education for videogames, you’ll find:
- GAME ARTIST PROGRAM: A 9-month long bootcamp designed to teach students and amateur video games artists 3D art skills to secure a career in games, film, XR and the metaverse.
- TRAINING ARTISTS FOR THE FUTURE: During the game art classes, they’ll teach students 3D Art Skills to complete a full project. Additionally, they will lead sessions with industry mentors to further deepen their student’s knowledge of the software and techniques used.
- Character Creation For Games: During this program, students will create a game-ready character from start to finish (Fluency in PBR workflow, Wrinkles & Pores, Dynamic poses and Material Expression) using 3d character modeling.
The usual time commitment required for each course is a minimum of 20+ hours per week and recommended 30+ hours per week. It will also require you to meet with your mentors twice weekly and then complete your work on your own schedule.
The Vertex Method is well-distinguished from its competitors by giving its students a personal guide to help them solve problems, break through blocks, and overcome plateaus. Their mentors help you structure your study plan and tailor the curriculum to your study style, and prep for your career begins on day one. Assignments, mentor feedback, and community events are tailored around hiring triggers and the strategies you need to be successful and secure a career.
“The education I got at Vertex School is what got me my current job with PIXOMONDO which was always a company I dreamed to work at. I’m now living my dream. If I was to give an aspiring artist advice, I would say you need to be prolific, not afraid to make bad art. You need experience. Your first 3D model will not be something you put on your ArtStation, show off and everyone loves. Make 100 crappy models if that is what it takes to get your first portfolio-worthy one. Don’t get discouraged. Be prolific.” – Andrew Baker, past Vertex student.
