Semper Home celebrates Memorial Day by gifting Navy veteran Jason DiMartino a high-tech battery backup through Semper Cares, marking the program’s first battery-focused installation and its 28th veteran recipient.
El Cajon, CA, May 19, 2026 — Semper Home is proud to announce Navy veteran Jason DiMartino as the latest recipient of its Semper Cares initiative ahead of Memorial Day 2026.
DiMartino, who served in the United States Navy from 1996 to 2001, will receive a professionally installed home battery storage system through Project Bravo-Bravo. The installation carries special meaning for the company because it is the first time Semper Cares has provided battery storage as part of the program.
For Semper Home, the project is about more than energy equipment. It reflects a simple goal of helping a veteran feel more secure at home during a time when many families are dealing with rising electricity costs and unexpected power outages.
Battery storage systems allow homeowners to save unused solar energy and use it later when the grid goes down or utility rates increase during peak hours. As more California homeowners look for dependable backup power, the company says battery storage has become one of the most requested energy upgrades.
“We started Semper Cares because we wanted to give back in a way that actually helps veterans in everyday life,” said Kelly Shawhan, co-owner of Semper Home and former Marine Corps Captain. “This installation will give Jason more peace of mind at home, and that is something we are honored to provide.”
Semper Home was founded in 2012 by Shawhan and business leader John Almond. What began as a veteran-owned solar company in San Diego has grown into a full-service home improvement business offering solar, battery storage, roofing, and HVAC services across California.
Even as the company has expanded, its connection to the veteran community has remained central to its identity. Semper Home continues to hire veterans whenever possible and regularly uses the Semper Cares initiative to support former service members facing financial pressure from high energy bills.
According to Semper Home, the decision to include battery storage in this year’s Memorial Day project reflects how homeowners are thinking differently about energy use and home reliability, especially as expectations from a Battery Storage Installation Company continue to grow alongside demand for dependable home energy solutions.
“People want to know their families will still have power when something unexpected happens,” said John Almond, co-owner of Semper Home. “Being able to help a veteran with that kind of security makes this project special for everyone involved.”
Semper Home says DiMartino’s installation is scheduled for Memorial Day weekend.
