FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

RANCHO SANTA FE, CA — April 13, 2020 — ThePayStubs, an online check stub generator, has established a scholarship program to help college students learn financial literacy.

Being financially literate means knowing how to manage money and making smart decisions for the future.

“For years these skills haven’t been taught explicitly in schools, rather the students pick it up on their own,” said Justin Brown, company spokesperson for ThePayStubs. “Colleges are now partnering with financial institutions and companies like us to incorporate financial literacy into their curriculums. Our scholarship will also help students become educated and independent. ”

ThePayStubs will award a $2,500 scholarship to one college student each year. The student must be majoring in finance, banking, accounting or other financial-related fields, and their school must be accredited by the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA).

Applicants will write a 1,000-word essay on the topic provided and submit personal, academic and tax documentation to the selection committee. The deadline to apply is June 10 and a winner will be announced in early July. Students can submit their completed applications to [email protected].

There is no cost to apply for the scholarship. ThePayStubs will never request money from applicants. The awarded funds will be sent directly to the winner’s institution.

“We want to help close the financial literacy gap for college students before they go out into the real world. This is such a major issue in our country that April has been officially designated as National Financial Literacy Month,” said Brown. “By learning these vital skills, they’ll be managing their finances better than 60% of the general public.”

ThePayStubs has helped more than 270,000 customers create online paystubs for their staff in minutes. Their software was developed by professional accountants to help better track payroll. ThePayStubs also offers clients an online W2 generator to help during tax season.
