Scunthorpe United is delighted to announce a brand new partnership with Symes Bains Broomer Law (SBB Law), which will see the company featured to thousands across all of the club’s matchdays this season.

The names of RAC Symes & Co and William Bains have been known to generations in the Scunthorpe area. The values of both firms revolved around excellent client care, quality service and technical expertise. In 1999 RAC Symes & Co and Bains merged to become Symes Bains and in 2000 the merged practice moved into its current offices at 2 Park Square in Scunthorpe.

James Broomer, father of their Goole based Consultant, Charles Broomer, created the former partnership of Taylor Broomer & Co in the mid 1950’s. The firm was based in Goole and had offices in Howden and Crowle. The lineage of the Howden office can be traced all the way back to the late 18th century, and we previously identified law reports and legal texts dating back to the 1790s.

In 2004 the practices of Symes Bains and Taylor Broomer & Co merged, and this created the firm Symes Bains Broomer. This merger allowed for a much stronger geographical presence in the local area with offices in Scunthorpe, Goole, Howden, Grimsby and Epworth at that time.

In 2012 they acquired local Scunthorpe firm, Rix Mclaren.

In November 2020 the firm went through an acquisition to obtain the private client sector of the former Heptonstalls in Goole, this enhanced their Wills/Probate and Conveyancing teams and significantly increased their Agricultural and Commercial presence in the Goole area along with the surrounding villages and towns. The firm then moved to bigger, newer premises in 2022 to accommodate their teams and to facilitate further expansion in the future.

Their offices are now in Scunthorpe and Goole.

Head of Partnerships Glyn Sparks said: “We are delighted to welcome Symes Baines Broomer Law into the club as another major commercial partnership. SBB Law are a fantastic local firm and have supported the club fantastically in the past, and we’re really looking forward to blossoming this further.

“This package will see SBB Law prominent on an Iron matchday going forward, and will become one which is recognised and remembered by many Scunthorpe fans over the course of the season.”
