Richmond, TX, October 7, 2020 – Parkway Fellowship Church in Richmond, TX announces the reopening of both of their physical locations, one in Richmond and the other in Katy. Each location will hold services on Sundays with new times at 9:30 & 10:45 AM. In addition, the church has expanded its online service times on Sundays with two additional broadcast times, compared to previous weeks. Parkway members and guests can also watch church online at parkwayfellowship.com/live at 9:30 & 10:45 AM, and 1:00, 5:00 & 9:00 PM.
“We recognize there is a large number of people still apprehensive to come to church physically. Many of those watching church online live too far away from either location to be able to regularly attend a physical service. Our desire is to create a great personalized church experience for those watching online or attending in person. We have tailored the content and style to be fitting for both settings individually,” says Communications Pastor Jeremiah Mohr.
Since moving to an online-only experience back in March of 2020, this has been the longest Parkway Fellowship has gone without meeting in person since their founding in the early 2000s.
Parkway senior pastor, Mike McGown says, “We are so excited to be meeting again together physically on Sundays. The reason we waited until recently to reopen our locations is, we wanted to monitor the reopening of schools. We also felt our decision was the most loving thing we could do for those vulnerable and those with compromised immune systems.”
In an effort to promote the safety of all, Parkway Fellowship staff has implemented several measures. There is a new dedicated “Corona Killers” team, whose job is to clean and disinfect all high trafficked areas throughout the morning. For the time being, there will be no floor prayer or communion, they have pre-made and pre-packaged donut holes and coffee for those who attend, and they have decreased the amount of seating and increased the space between rows in all main auditoriums. Finally, everyone is encouraged to wear a mask, wash hands regularly, and practice social distancing.
Parkway Fellowship is a Purpose-Driven church serving Katy, Richmond, Rosenberg, Fulshear, and surrounding communities, founded in 2003. They are a casual, contemporary, bible-based church that is focused on the entire family.
