Out of the Margins welcomes Gabby Ross, LGSW, to its Washington, DC practice, adding trauma-informed therapy for women, couples, and LGBTQIA+ clients across the District, Maryland, and Virginia.

Washington, DC, August 3, 2026 — Out of the Margins has added Gabby Ross, Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW), to its team of therapists, expanding the practice’s trauma-informed, culturally responsive care for clients across Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia. Ross brings experience supporting women, couples and LGBTQIA+ individuals through anxiety, trauma and major life changes.

Many clients come to therapy after years of shaping themselves around other people’s expectations. Out of the Margins built its practice on the idea that people should not have to explain their identity before they can be understood, and demand for that kind of culturally responsive care has continued to grow across the DC area, particularly among clients who have not always felt represented in traditional mental health care. Ross’s work reflects that same approach, meeting clients where they are rather than asking them to fit a predetermined mold.

Ross works with clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma and relationship concerns, along with those focused on self-esteem, boundaries and life transitions. Her sessions are shaped around each client’s specific goals rather than a fixed program, and her approach draws on curiosity, patience and respect for where a person is in their process.

“Trust builds one conversation at a time,” Ross said. “My job is to create a space where people feel heard, not judged, so the real work of therapy can happen.”

Ross also works with couples seeking to strengthen communication and rebuild emotional connection, whether they are navigating a difficult transition or simply want a stronger foundation. She joins a practice that specializes in trauma therapy, anxiety and depression treatment, Couples Therapy, domestic violence and power-based violence recovery, LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy, and support for polyamorous and ethically non-monogamous clients, BIPOC and identity-affirming care, life transitions, and support for first responders and helping professionals. Out of the Margins sees clients in person at its Adams Morgan office and virtually throughout Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia, and also offers psychiatric medication management in DC and Maryland.

“No one should feel they have to hide part of themselves to get support,” Ross said. “Therapy works best when a client feels safe enough to be honest about where they are and where they want to go.”

Out of the Margins said the addition of Ross reflects its continued focus on matching clients with therapists whose background and approach fit their needs. The practice offers individual, couples and group therapy, and plans to continue expanding its clinical team as demand for affirming, trauma-informed Mental Health Care in Washington DC grows.
