Version 4 introduces enhanced features and fresh maps
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Australia, 24 August 2023— Australian four-wheel drivers, adventurers and explorers are in for a treat as Hema Maps celebrates its 40th anniversary and rolls out an impressive software update for its popular HX-2 GPS Navigator.
The major version 4 update promises performance enhancements as well as a significant expansion of the offroad and adventure maps catalogue.
What’s New in V4?
Version 4 will provide a more dynamic on-road experience for users including the integration of the latest HERE SDK, bringing with it significant boosts in performance, fresh HERE maps, and improved routing visuals, which now include striking 3D landmarks.
For explorers who love a clear path, the HX-2 now provides an option to toggle the visibility of HERE points of interest (POIs), while also introducing a new compass feature to aid in-map rotation.
Revamped offroad maps have been supercharged with a whopping 20,000 kms of new and updated tracks, ensuring adventurers never run out of places to explore.
Key upgrades include:
- One-way arrow labels on tracks for clarity
- A clear distinction between locked and unlocked gates
Eye-catching sand area visuals, improved state border style and labelling, and updates to localities, national parks, marine parks, aboriginal areas, suburbs, and urban centres.
In the HX-2, travellers can now discover many new maps in the Adventure Map collection ranging from Outback Queensland’s numerous national parks to the serene shores of Fraser Island and the rugged terrains of Tasmania.
Hema Maps General Manager, Matthew O’Meara, thanked Hema’s Alpha Program contributors, without whose efforts the GPS device upgrade would not have been possible.
“Without their dedicated efforts, Hema wouldn’t stand as the top map provider in Australia,” Mr O’Meara said.
For 40 years, Hema has been at the forefront of the 4WD industry, providing unparalleled GPS navigation experiences for adventurers and explorers. The HX-2 GPS Navigator, one of its flagship products, embodies the brand’s dedication to quality and innovation.
