Jacksonville, FL, November 17, 2022— In these challenging economic times, JaxCo Furniture and Mattress and its partners remain committed to helping Jacksonville residents. This Thanksgiving, JaxCo is partnering with other local businesses, schools, and nonprofits to provide over 300 Thanksgiving meals to families in need.
One of our goals is to be a leader in the community, no matter how strenuous the economy gets, Mike McCann, owner of JaxCo Furniture, said when asked why they put together this drive. To us, Community means serving others no matter what, even if that means sacrificing.
By providing these meals, they are helping to ease the burden of many families who are struggling to make ends meet. Meals are being distributed through schools such as Mayport Elementary, St. Johns Technical High School, and Arlington Heights Elementary.
While the window for donations in Jacksonville FL has closed, the packing party is being held tonight, Thursday, 11/17, from 4:30 – 6:00 at JaxCo Furniture: 9978 Atlantic Blvd. Please visit https://jaxcofurniture.com/donate/ to sign up to help pack meals for distribution.
The food drive began in 2016, before McCann opened JaxCo Furniture, with a dozen families at Mayport Elementary. Every year since, the drive has added schools and partners. This year, the JaxCo team recruited partners Slainte Chiropractic and Sponsored by GRACE to fundraise food and funds. In addition, the JaxChamber helped secure meaningful strategic partnerships for distribution.
