County Councilman Sees Opportunity to Help the Most Vulnerable

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

GREENVILLE, S.C., May 7, 2020 – Greenville County Councilman Rick Roberts called on all Greenville County residents to donate items for the homeless community last week.

Those without homes are some of the most vulnerable in our communities right now, something Roberts knew he needed to do something about.

Rick Roberts organized a donation drive Wednesday and Friday in order to serve those without a home in the midst of the global health crisis.

Organizers say Councilman Roberts decided to plan the drive after learning that several shelters and food banks are at capacity and in significant need of any items people can spare.

Donors have been asked to bring basic household items including canned goods and non-perishable food, soap, diapers, baby formula, and clothing.

Volunteers are working with Miracle Hill Ministries to distribute the items to various local charities, shelters, and groups.

Greenville’s Rick Roberts is running for his second term on Greenville County Council in order to continue fighting for local government reform in the Upstate of South Carolina.
