The patent-pending Enchantress external elk call includes a diaphragm and silicone “tongue” to create the tension for a full range of realistic sounds and bugles.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
EAGLE, Idaho, July 15, 2022 — Elk hunters who’ve passed over push calls in the past have a reason to sit up and pay attention to the Enchantress, a new class of elk push call pioneered by Slayer Calls and launched on its website Thursday.
“For those hunters that can’t use reeds, Slayer’s Enchantress is a game-changer — a way for hunters to make true elk sounds without a mouth reed,” said Justin Sparks, vice president of operations at Kryptek Outdoor Group.
The secret to the Enchantress external elk call’s realistic sounds and bugles is the lifelike silicone “tongue” that depresses the internal diaphragm, creating tension that mimics a mouth call.
“First of its kind — there’s nothing like this on the market today,” said elk calling world champion Cody McCarthy, coach and head of product innovation at Slayer Calls.
When the Enchantress stands alone, hunters can create lifelike cow sounds and bugles. Screwed on to the Swagger Bugle Tube, she can make every elk sound necessary to call in the biggest bulls. Demonstrating the push call’s sophisticated range, McCarthy said hunters can even estrus buzz and lip bawl with the Enchantress.
The Enchantress external cow call’s design is original, with a patent pending with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. It’s unlike any external elk call hunters have been able to use before now.
Hunters commonly struggle to control tongue pressure when using a mouth call, while also monitoring the air pressure. For elk hunters who haven’t found success with an internal diaphragm, a push call eases half the battle by allowing them to control the tension manually. A push call also eliminates hunters’ need to find a mouth call with the right fit for their palate — often a hangup in mastering elk calling.
The Enchantress cow push call is available from Slayer Calls for $55 as of Thursday. It can also be purchased with the Swagger Bugle Tube for aggressive bull calling for $89.
