New free online childcare at home network designed to provide quality programming for children ages infant to age five, is now live.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Chicago, IL, May 26, 2020 – Families affected by the global health crisis are home 24×7 trying to balance their sanity, the kids’ education, and even their business. Many are trying to establish new rules to help with the transition and figure out how to remain productive in today’s “new normal.” As offices shift to the home, families are in desperate need to find solutions and ways to create windows for productivity. To meet this need, Chicago daycare owner, Sholom Strick, launched a new online child preschool learning network, Nook School Network (NSN).

“As both a parent and an owner of several childcare centers in Chicago, I know firsthand what this feels like and how hard it is to entertain kids with videos you can feel good about”, said Strick.

The Nook School Network is an online school resource for families and young children to be part of an experience that is fun, educational and supportive. The pilot episode, called “Indoor Camping” launched Wednesday, May 6, 2020 with one hour of programming geared toward preschoolers.  The NSN team shared how to bring the fun outdoors… inside. With indoor camping activities ranging from making S’mores, doing crafts, reading, and more.

A small survey asked, while working from home, have you been able to effectively manage your workload while taking care of your children?” 62% of respondents agree that working parents are unable to juggle working from home and childcare. Strick says that this is not surprising as we hear this same concern from our daycare families that are immensely missing their daycare teachers.

“We are asking the community to share this free resource so we can touch as many families in need as possible. We want to do our part and offer some relief to these families that are struggling by giving them content with purpose”, says Strick.

Sholom Strick owns daycare brands, The Nook, Tiny Tot, Wise Owl, and Smart from the Start. All ten of his locations are in the Chicago area. Strick has a passion for reviving struggling childcare centers and bringing them back to life so they can once again make a positive impact in their respective communities.
