Experienced Colorado Attorney Brings 20+ Years of Courtroom Experience and Honored with 2024 Top Mediation Award from Metro Volunteer Lawyers

Golden, CO, November 11, 2025 — New Leaf Family, a law firm dedicated to empowering clients and redefining the family law experience, is proud to announce the addition of Jesse Aschenberg to its team of skilled and compassionate attorneys. Aschenberg is a family lawyer.

Just days after joining New Leaf Family, Aschenberg was presented with the prestigious 2024 Top Mediation Award from Metro Volunteer Lawyers, recognizing his exceptional commitment to helping families resolve conflicts through collaborative, compassionate mediation. The award underscores Aschenberg’s reputation as a skilled mediator who prioritizes solutions that serve families’ best interests while reducing the emotional and financial toll of litigation.

“Jesse’s addition to our team strengthens our ability to serve Colorado families during some of their most challenging moments,” said Christopher Anderson, co-founder and CEO of New Leaf Family. “His combination of courtroom skill, mediation proficiency, and personal understanding of what families go through during divorce makes him an invaluable advocate for our clients.”

Aschenberg offers a unique perspective that goes beyond legal knowledge. As a divorced father of five, he brings firsthand knowledge of the emotional and financial realities families face during separation and custody disputes. This lived experience, combined with his deep understanding of Colorado divorce, family mediation, and bankruptcy law, allows him to guide clients with both professional skill and genuine empathy.

A Colorado native, Aschenberg established his law practice in 2003 after earning his Juris Doctorate from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Northern Colorado.

Beyond his legal practice, Aschenberg is deeply committed to community service. He provides pro bono legal services through Metro Volunteer Lawyers and the Justice and Mercy Legal Aid Center, and actively participates in the Colorado Bar Association’s initiatives supporting individuals battling addiction. When he’s not advocating for families, Jesse enjoys exploring Colorado on his bike, hiking the state’s mountain ranges, and performing with community music groups.

“Family law isn’t just about legal documents and court proceedings, it’s about helping real people navigate life-changing transitions,” Aschenberg said. “I’m honored to join New Leaf Family and continue serving Colorado families with the compassionate, strategic advocacy they deserve.”
