DURING THE PANDEMIC, SUBSTANCE USE TREATMENT HAS STRUGGLED TO TRANSLATE VIA TELEHEALTH CARE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Owings Mills, MD, March 19, 2021 — The Baltimore-based Amatus Recovery Center, Foundations Recovery Center, was featured in an article by national publication Health.com.

During the pandemic, many healthcare providers have switched to telehealth addiction treatment appointments and have seen great success. However, regarding substance use treatment, a strong in-person recovery network is often suggested to help those new to recovery avoid the recurrence of substance use.

The article, titled People Seeking Drug Treatment Weren’t Ready for the Pandemic—Here’s What We Learned About Relapse and Recovery, featured two Foundations clients and a behavioral health supervisor. They spoke about the struggles clients faced without in-person appointments, and the success they had when statewide restrictions eased.

Foundations Recovery Center offers Partial Hospitalization, Intensive Outpatient, and Outpatient programming for substance use disorder treatment. To learn more, visit foundationsrecoverycenter.com or call 844-947-1705.

Foundations Recovery Center and Amatus Recovery Centers are subsidiaries of Amatus Health, a nationally accredited behavioral health system operating 14 centers in six states across the nation. ARC provides the full-continuum of addiction-related care, from medical detox to long-term outpatient aftercare.
