Alden Investment Group Welcomes Buck Burns as Director of Investments and Trading

WAYNE, PA–Alden Investment Group is proud to announce the appointment of Buck Burns as Director of Investments and Trading.

With over 25 years of experience in fixed-income investments, mortgage capital markets, and digital assets, Buck brings an extensive institutional background, having worked closely with banks, hedge funds, depositories, and high-net-worth individuals. His expertise spans portfolio management, asset sales, and transaction management, making him a key addition to Alden’s platform.

In his new role, Buck will lead Alden’s initiative to support advisors by mapping their practices into models, automating investment processes such as cash raises, rebalances, and tax transitions, and tailoring portfolios to meet the needs of high-net-worth clients. Additionally, Buck will oversee two bank-specific funds at Equalize Capital and play a pivotal role in fixed-income management.

With advanced expertise in SQL, Buck is well-positioned to leverage data-driven investment strategies that enhance portfolio precision and efficiency. His strong foundation in risk management and hedging, combined with his background in balance sheet optimization, equips him to deliver tailored solutions for institutions, advisors, and clients aiming for optimal returns in varying market conditions.

“Having someone of Buck’s caliber on board is a game changer for our firm, advisors and clients,” said Aaron Williams, Chief Growth Officer at Alden Investment Group. “His extensive experience with financial institutions, deep knowledge of fixed income, and programming skills provide our advisors with access to institutional-grade insights, management and execution. Buck’s leadership in trading and investments will broaden the range and elevate the quality of services we offer, empowering our advisors to grow their businesses confidently. Most importantly, our clients will benefit from institutional-quality models–including fixed income SMAs–crafted around their financial plans and seamlessly presented through our proposal tool.”

Along with overseeing all platform trading and investments, Buck will lead Alden’s institutional fixed-income and loan trading initiatives, including managing community development loan funds and various debt-oriented SMAs. His history with banks and hedge funds brings a new level of sophistication to Alden’s risk management and investment models, ensuring that advisors can offer their clients top-tier services.

Aaron Williams, Alden’s CGO, has already begun personally introducing Buck to the firm’s advisors, reinforcing Alden’s commitment to innovative investment solutions for clients and a continually expanding expertise in wealth management.
