FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Bessemer, AL, June 13, 2023 – Grace Klein Community, the nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering
authentic community connections, is thrilled to announce its new building campaign and relocation to the historic Morgan United Methodist Church address. With a renewed vision to address physical and spiritual needs on both local and global levels, Grace Klein Community is poised to make an even greater impact.

The move to the Morgan United Methodist Church address is not only a significant milestone but also an opportunity to deepen existing partnerships and forge new ones. The Morgan UMC congregation has expressed their excitement and gratitude for the collaboration, viewing it as an answer to their prayers. The partnership has allowed Morgan UMC to witness firsthand the transformative power of community-driven initiatives within their own building.

One of the key highlights of the new location is the expansive garden spaces, which have been a significant part of the Morgan UMC plan from the beginning. Through collaborations with Jefferson County Master Gardeners, generous companies, and other organizations, Grace Klein Community has been able to create vast garden areas at the church. These spaces serve as a testament to the organization’s commitment to “Grow More, Give More,” enabling us to share freshly grown food with those in need.

In addition to the local impact, Grace Klein Community’s reach extends beyond their immediate vicinity. The organization recently provided much-needed support to Crosspoint Christian Church in Selma, delivering essential items such as toys and highchairs for their tornado-affected daycare. The ability to give was made possible through the kindness and generosity of Morgan United Methodist Church.

The community’s support and unity have been crucial to Grace Klein Community’s success. Two separate churches, Christ the King Anglican Church and The Station Church, which is located next door to Morgan UMC, have reached out to offer their focused prayers, before they even knew about the collaboration.

There were also three organizations, Valleydale Church, The Welch Group, and ACIPCO, who reached out to invest in the efforts to care for Birmingham before they knew about the new space, which coincided beautifully with “early adopters,” to immediately begin the space renovations. These gestures of solidarity reinforce the shared vision of fostering authentic community connections and the belief in the power of collective action.

As Grace Klein Community embarks on this new chapter, they invite individuals, businesses, ministries, and churches to join them on their journey towards authentic community. Contributions in the form of financial support, volunteerism, and partnership opportunities will play a pivotal role in creating lasting change and making a positive impact on society.

“We are extremely excited about this new phase in our organization’s growth,” said a spokesperson for Grace Klein Community. “The new building will allow us to expand our programs and services and foster an even deeper sense of belonging and unity among our community members. We believe by sharing what we have and working together, we can create a stronger, more compassionate society.”

Grace Klein Community’s commitment to meeting physical and spiritual needs is at the core of their mission. Through various initiatives such as food drives, community outreach programs, mentorship, and partnership with local businesses, the organization has been making a tangible difference in the lives of individuals and families in need. Their focus extends beyond the local community, as they actively engage in global initiatives to address poverty, education, healthcare, and other pressing issues.
