Vegas

Every year, around 40 million tourists visit Las Vegas. Some are first-timers, while others are seasoned visitors who have pretty much seen it all.

No matter where you fall in those categories, surely you’re wondering about unique things to do in Sin City. This can be especially true if you’re not interested in or are tired of just gambling whenever you’re there.

To freshen things up for you a bit, here are 7 of the most unique things to do in Las Vegas.

1. See “The Hunger Games: The Exhibit
In MGM Grand, they have an exhibit inside The District that shows off tons of things from “The Hunger Games” films. This exhibit first started off as a tour and hit big cities like San Francisco, New York, Louisville, and Sydney, Australia. However, it’s now made its home right here in Las Vegas.

In this exhibit, you’ll see recreations of many famous scenes in the movies, such as District 13, the Tribute train, and President Snow’s office. These are definitely some cool places to take memorable photos. You’ll also see some of the costumes worn by the actors.

If you’re craving an interactive experience, not to worry. In this exhibit, you’ll get to try your hand at archery. You’ll also get to try the interactive digital training lab.
2. Go to the Neon Museum
For the fans of unique museums, this is one you shouldn’t miss out on. This is actually a non-profit organization that’s dedicated to displaying neon signs from Las Vegas. Ever since 1996, this museum’s been showing visitors the iconic Sin City neon signs that have attracted so many tourists.

And if you’re a fan of Tim Burton, then make sure you visit Las Vegas in either fall or winter. The Neon Museum has a special exhibit called “Lost Vegas,” which features original fine art from the director.

3. Go Kayaking and Boating

You may be scratching your head at this one: isn’t Las Vegas a Desert? Well, there’s the Colorado River and Lake Mead, just under an hour away from Sin City.

If you’ve had enough of stuffy casinos, then these are the perfect places to go to clear your head and get enough fresh air to nurse your hangover. You can book day excursions for both kayaking and boating.

Some points of interest include the Hoover Dam and Emerald Cove. Whichever day excursion you choose, you’re sure to thoroughly enjoy some time in nature rather than in the noisy casinos of Vegas.
4. GO to the minus5 ICEBAR
Have you always wanted to experience the Arctic but have never gotten the chance to? Then here’s the next best thing!

You’ll find 3 minus5 ICEBAR in Las Vegas: in Mandalay Bay, the Venetian, and LINQ. When you step foot into the ice bar, everything inside is made of ice! Throughout the year, you’ll find different ice sculptures on display.

To stay warm, you’ll don both gloves and a parka (or faux fur coat). While you sip on delicious cocktails in ice glasses, you’ll get to witness some amazing LED light shows and fantastic music.

At the end of your experience, you’ll get the chance to buy some merchandise and gear, including ones with your professional pictures on them.
5. Go Ziplining
This is another activity for those of you who like to do outdoor activities!

Ziplining is usually reserved for expansive reserves of nature where you can take in the sights while you whiz through the air. So it may come as a surprise to some of you that you can do this activity right in the heart of the Strip!

There are a few that’ll take you out over nature (such as in Bootleg Canyon), but there are several in the city that lets you soar over the Strip and its bustling crowds. This will offer you a truly unique view of the city that others don’t normally get.
6. Dine out in Chinatown
When you think of Las Vegas and dining, you most likely think of their luxurious buffets. These cost a pretty penny, but they’re definitely worth it.

But what if you’ve already tried all the good ones and are looking for something different for your meals out? Then you should head over to Chinatown.

You’ll find Chinatown a few blocks away from the center on Spring Mountain Road, so it’s not too far to get to. You’ll find lots of authentic restaurants serving Japanese, Chinese, and fusion food.

After your delicious meals, you can then grab cocktails at several hip bars down there, such as the Golden Tiki or Sand Dollar Lounge. While these aren’t Asian themed, they’re still worth visiting.
7. Go to the Pioneer Saloon
The Pioneer Saloon is the oldest bar in Southern Nevada. You’ll have to drive south for about 40 minutes from the Strip, but it’s a worthwhile experience.

This saloon has a whiskey-aging program where you can try 100-proof whiskey. It’ll certainly put hair on your chest!

The Pioneer Saloon was ordered from a Sears catalog, but it’s grown since then. Today, it has not just a kitchen and dining room, but it also has a patio and courtyard.

You can even stay the night for their haunted lockdown sleepover. There are rumors that the grounds are haunted, so keep your eyes peeled!
