FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Putnam County, March 02, 2020 – In 2020, the 100+ Men Who Care (MWC) will be celebrating our 5-year anniversary. In January 2015, Scott Davis formed a 12-man TEAM to help him pursue his dream of giving back to the community that had supported his furniture store for 35 years. While the vast majority of such chapters nationwide belong to women, the TEAM created a tweaked version focusing on things that would hopefully appeal to men.

Over the course of 20 meetings over 5 years, we have given out $247,000 to 17 different organizations that have impacted all parts of our county!  At the last meeting, the Putnam County Dollars for Scholars organizations were selected (North Putnam Dollars for Scholars, Cloverdale Dollars for Scholars, Greencastle Alumni (soon to be Dollars for Scholars, and a startup Dollars for Scholars at South Putnam). This donation will impact students from throughout the county for many years to come!

Moreover, we have also built our endowment at the Putnam County Community Foundation to over $87,000, which will provide over $3,000 annually to the Community Grants committee at the Foundation.

2020 WILL BE A HUGE YEAR FOR US.  We ended 2019 with 126 members, and to date, we have 121 men committed for 2020. We are on pace for record-setting membership levels which means a record amount of donations going to ONLY Putnam County Charities!

At our first meeting in March of 2020, we will vault over $250,000 for 100 Plus Men Who Care donations.

This year, Vince Aguirre of Distinct Web Design is our president and has focused on improving our communication with potential members, nonprofits, and new members.
